Hersham

Hersham is a vilage that offers enormous diversity to the historian. In the 20th century large houses and estates increasly came up for sale and where offered to commuters to London. This has lead to Hersham being a very popular area.

Walton-on-Thames

There are several large country estates surrounding Walton on Thames, Ashley Park, once part of Oatlands, formerly ran down to Walton town, with a fine avenue of trees terminating in the High Street. Its distinguished occupants included Christopher Villiers, Earl of Anglesey, brother of George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham, Charles I's favourite. In the last few years the popularity of small boats on the river has increased enormously and there is a marina at Walton on Thames.

Weybridge
