There are numerous leisure facilities locally catering for all needs.
There are some of the best Golf Courses in Surrey within a five mile radius
including St George's Hill, Wentworth, Sunningdale, The Wisley, Burhill,
together with many Public Courses and Driving Ranges including Silvermere,
Hersham Golf Club, Sandown Driving Range and Golf Centre.
There are many Fitness Clubs including David Lloyd at Weybridge, Cannons of West
Byfleet, Elmbridge Leisure Centre in Walton, The Spectrum at Guildford and
many more too numerous to mention.
The local Football team is Walton and Hersham, known as the Swans. The ground
is located in Stompond Lane, Walton on Thames and there is a great atmosphere.
There many other local Football Clubs ie. Walton Casuals, Molesey, FC, West
Horsley and Staines Town.
Rugby is a very popular sport locally probably due to the areas proximity to
Twickenham. Esher Rugby Club have there ground near to Hersham Station
and have attracted a lot of good Players over the years. There is also
a very good hand car wash there!
In fact all sporting activities take place locally with the exception of Skiing.
Correction, there is a dry slope at Sandown as well as another good fitness
centre and squash courts.
